The 5th Anniversary Story
Origin
The Earth Is the Lord's Prayer Vigil was born in 2022 from a vision given to founder Tallie Carter — to call the world back to a foundational truth declared in Psalm 24:1: "The earth is the Lord's, the fullness thereof and all its inhabitants."
What began as a single prayer gathering on Earth Day has grown into the largest Earth Day prayer event in the world, uniting believers across denominations, nations, and time zones in one continuous act of worship and intercession for God's creation.
Growth
Over four years, this movement has expanded far beyond a single day of prayer. Through our Covenant Partnerships, we are building a year-round community of believers who are as passionate about climate action and environmental stewardship as they are about faithful worship.
What started with one gathering now spans 10+ countries, with regional leaders, ministry partners, and faith communities joining a growing global covenant to care for the earth as God intended.
Year 5 Invitation
Now, as we enter our 5th Anniversary year, we carry both the momentum of what God has built and the urgency of what remains to be done. This milestone vigil — April 22, 2026 — will bring together our most extraordinary community yet: praying, presenting, and praising God for His creation while committing to meaningful action for its care.
